Let me say that I'm not looking forward to the Wii U. I haven't been a hardcore Nintendo fan in a very long time. At the same time, I also know that people are generally excited about Nintendo's new system. Are they excited enough to pay what is rumored to be upwards of $300?
Recent reports that have surfaced claiming they know how much the "insides" of the Wii U costs, puts it at about $180. Originally thought to have a launch price of $299, this manufacturing cost would suggest a $300 or more price tag.
There have also been reports of anonymous game developers stating that the Wii U is not up to par graphically with the XBox 360 and PS3. Also there is a looming possibly of 2013 seeing the release of the " Xbox 720 and "PS4." Next gen systems that could be 10 times more powerful. If this is the case, will gamers still pay $300 or more for the Wii U?
I know one thing for sure, this gamer will wait for the other two.
